Our fish
Albino sturgeon
The albino sturgeon also called Acipenser Ruthenus.
The albino sturgeons in our ponds are albino Sterlet, which can reach a length of up to 120 cm, making them one of the smallest sturgeon species.
Typical for the albino Sterlet is of course the white-yellow albino colour, furthermore they look very much like the Siberian smooth-bellied sturgeon, the main difference in the Sterlet is that the nose is slightly more pointed.
These fish are very active. They swim and feed mainly on the bottom of ponds.
The Albino Sterlet sturgeon is a popular fish within the koi world because of its characteristic colour and relatively small build.
Often best caught on pellets, herring or cheese.
It is recommended to also make a small feeding spot with pellets around 2-3 metres from the shore.
