Albino catfish

At Fish Fun Vrouwenpolder, albino specimens of the European catfish are also swimming. These are the same species as the well-known European catfish, but with a strikingly light colour. Just like their wild-coloured congeners, these albinos are known for their strength and cleverness, guaranteeing a tough showdown at your rod!

The albinos actually owe their white colour to a "mistake" of nature, as the albinos have no pigment, giving them a white skin and red eyes, all due to a genetic defect. These abnormalities are not harmful to the fish itself, but make it an easier prey in nature.

All this does make this sport fish a very nice fish to catch!

On both our ponds there is a European albino catfish with a length between 100-110 cm, a unique fish, on your rod, in the water, but especially in the picture!
